The 2004 images were taken January 1st @ H. Identification was by Dale Schweitzer. The 2005 image, taken from Prettyboy Reservoir, Baltimore County in early spring, was provided by John Glaser of Berkeley Springs, WV. The larva feed on American Holly. The underside HW of M. violacea has a lighter dark spot against the costa then M. viatica.
